NURSERY/DAYCARE

Nursery/Daycare: At A Glance

Established in September 2005, Regulus’s methodology is simple: to provide nurture, comfort and peace using techniques that foster development for babies. This involves ensuring that babies are not in a disruptive or disturbing environment, so they are not prone to anxiety or emotional distress.

This is done in a non-rigorous, non-institutionalized and fun home environment. Some of the Regulus methods for childhood development include, classical music appreciation, toys that develop social skills as well as daily communication methods with parents, child and caregiver for additional comfort and growth.

Regulus Child Care Services was founded by R. Jerriann Baker fondly called "Auntie Jerri". She observed that quality day care was lacking within Trinidad and Tobago and decided to introduce parents to a better standard of child care service that would accommodate their busy lifestyles.

Any member of staff who works with Regulus is asked the following question: “Would you do this job for free?” This helps us recruit staff members who are not simply motivated by money, but by the joy of working with, and caring for, little ones. Caring for children’s needs often requires that you act above and beyond the call of duty, and no amount of financial compensation can substitute.

While studying at Drexel University, Philadelphia PA, Auntie Jerri had the profound privilege of being a full time nanny for three years. She has over 10 years of experience of working with children of varied ages, ethnicities and cultures. She has conducted lectures and counseling sessions with parents in Trinidad and Tobago and the United States; and, she has worked with pre-mature babies (preemies),  and toddlers with mild ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)

Regulus’s mission is simple: “To raise the standard of childcare in Trinidad and Tobago”.

Our units will always be small and personal, and applications will be accepted by invitation only.

The following items will help parents to pack a bag, at the beginning of the week, that will stay at day care until Friday. This helps reduce the risk of forgetting items that do sometimes occur when moving little ones from home to day care on a regular basis. Please remember this is a sample list and more may be added, dependent on the needs of each child. An infant list may also vary from that of a toddler.

  • Diapers or pull-ups
  • Baby wipes
  • 2 towels (dirty one will be sent home)
  • Labeled blanket and sheet
  • Daily change of clothes labeled (dirty laundry will be sent home)
  • Bibs
  • Baby shampoo/liquid bath soap
  • Baby lotions
  • Medication when necessary
  • Formula (notice will be given to replenish)
  • Hot water flask (optional)
  • Wash cloths
  • At least 3 labeled bottles
  • Favorite sippie cup or juice cup

We do ask that all babies belongings be labeled and will advise parents when replenishing is necessary. Once again we ask this list to be used as a guideline and if you know that you baby’s need will require additions to this list please feel free to include it.
