PRIMARY

Primary: At A Glance

Our Primary School is a continuance of the education program to the end of having a well-rounded world citizen. A student that views education as exciting and is not afraid to ask questions, discover and explore. A student who has the attention of the teacher because of the small class size, with curriculum delivered to them using technology to bring alive topics such as language, math and science.

We strive to establish partnerships with parents who want their children to be appreciative of diversity. We deploy the curriculum of the Ministry of Education of Trinidad and Tobago, and prepare our students for the SEA examination. Our classes will always be small and personal, and applications will be accepted by invitations only. Through Modern Teaching Methods, Character Building, 21st Century Skills Development and Project Based Learning approaches we believe we can provide your child with a balanced education for better minds.

From: Better Care, Better Children…

Regulus Educational Academy was founded by R. Jerriann Baker.  She observed that quality day care was lacking within Trinidad and Tobago and decided to introduce parents to a better standard of child care service that would accommodate their busy lifestyles. At Preschool we pursue learning achievements that are appropriate for young children and that provide the foundation for successful future learning experiences as Regulus would have it. Learning expectations are given for six areas of learning – Personal and Social Development, Language, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Health and Physical Activity, and The Arts . Programs based on the learning expectations have taken into consideration the widest possible range of children’s life experiences and situations. At Daycare and Preschool we believe that better care fosters better children.

21st Century Skills Development:
The 21st century skills are a set of abilities that students need to develop in order to succeed in the information age. They include Learning Skills (Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Collaborating and Communication), Literacy Skills (Information Literacy, Medial Literacy and Technology Literacy) and Life Skills (Flexibility, Initiative, Social Skills, Productivity and Leadership).

Teaching and Building Character Strengths:
Of the 24 Character strengths identified in the Values in Action Inventory Regulus will focus on Teaching and Building those (Grit, Optimism, Self-Control, Gratitude, Social intelligence, Curiosity and Zest) that are most relevant to your child’s learning and development.

Modern Teaching Methods:
The traditional “chalk and talk” method of teaching that’s persisted for hundreds of years is now acquiring inferior results when compared with the more modern and revolutionary teaching methods that are available for use in schools today. Greater student interaction is encouraged, the boundaries of authority are being broken down, and a focus on enjoyment over grades is emphasized.
